Thesis committee

Each student will be advised through the corresponding project leader and two tutors (RTG project leaders) who constitute the thesis committee. The tutors are nominated by the steering committee.

Every student will prepare every 6 months a progress report of her/his project and present it orally in a 15 min presentation at the monthly seminar for graduate students.

Following the seminar and discussion, students submit a short (max. 2 pages) summary to the thesis committee members and the coordinator, including future experiments and a summary of recommendations in the seminar.

In addition, all students write a first-year report (max. 5 pages) after one year that is to be handed to the thesis committee and the coordinator. The results will be critically discussed and future proceedings / future work will be planned.
