🚫 Disabling and Managing Tokens
Disabling a token is particularly necessary in the event of losing your device (smartphone, YubiKey) or when leaving the university, in order to guarantee the security of your account.
You have the following options to disable a token:
- Self-Management in the 2FA Portal (Recommended)
Log into the 2FA Portal and disable the respective token yourself.
Prerequisite: You will need an additional, active token (App, YubiKey, TAN) to log in. - Using the Form
Use the dedicated online form to report the status of a token and request its deactivation:
Report Regarding the Current Status of a Token Form - Contacting the IT Service Desk
If none of the above options are possible (e.g., if you have lost your only token), please contact the HRZ IT Service Desk directly.
📦 Important Note on Returning YubiKeys
When leaving the university: If you received a YubiKey through the university and are leaving the institution, the hardware token must be physically returned to the IT Service Desk after it has been disabled in the portal.
