Central User Account for Anonymous Guests
also: Ordering the configuration-free WiFi access for conferences (SSID “UMRnet_guest”)
For conferences, congresses, reviews etc. central user accounts for guests can be created temporarily. The names of the guests do not have to be known in advance. Each guest needs such an account to connect to the WIFI or to use the (demo) PCs in lecture halls, seminar rooms and PC pools, see scope of services.
A temporary configuration-free, unsecured conference WiFi (SSID “UMRnet_guest”) can be provided at the event location. This can be used either with temporary guest accounts or permanent established functional accounts.
Costs: The creation of anonymous guest accounts and/or providing the conference WiFi is always subject to a fee. The amount of the fees can be found under conditions and costs [German].
Hint: Guests of other universities can usually use the WiFi (eduroam) at Philipps-University Marburg with the access data of their home institution and do not need a guest account.
