The Master’s degree programme in International Political and Social Science Research provides students with sound methodological knowledge for analysing political and social developments. Over four semesters, this research-oriented programme combines theoretical specialisation with practical research, providing targeted preparation for scientific and analytical work.

In terms of content, the programme combines intensive methodological training with three central subject areas:

  • Inequality and Diversity – Research into the causes and consequences of social and political inequality.
  • Digital Societies – Analysis of the impact of digitalisation on society and politics.
  • International Politics and Conflict – Examination of international and local conflict dynamics and global political challenges.

This interdisciplinary approach enables students to critically examine current social developments and explore them using sound scientific methods.

Objectives

The degree programme systematically prepares students for demanding jobs with high analytical requirements. Graduates are qualified for careers in national and international public institutions, civil society organisations, social science research institutions, science management, policy consulting and the media.

In addition, the programme opens the way to a doctorate and an academic career. The strong emphasis on independent research projects provides students with a solid foundation for further academic pursuits.
