Preparation
of study and information materials

Preliminary note

The Service Center for Disabled Students (SBS) provides student assistants for the preparation of study and information materials for people who are blind or low-vision. They will also share their experiences preparing accessible study materials with private study assistants you may hire. (Appointments for this upon request at SBS.)

  • Materials to be prepared

Study materials put out by teachers at the university are given priority. Collections of materials, such as those put out by student associations, are considered only secondarily.

The materials listed above are available in the following prepared media formats:

    • Digital
Converted either into Word format or Braille
    • Braille print-out
      Page size DIN A4, one-sided
    • Large print
20 point Arial; other enlargement levels and fonts are possible upon request

To provide the materials in these media formats, we must have the original text either already digitized (preferably in Word format) or as a high-quality print that can be digitized using an optical character recognition (OCR) system.
  • Prepared materials

Materials that have been prepared in this way are available from us free of charge. They can be requested by telephone at
