Researcher and exchange lecturer

Erasmus Mundus scholarships are available for exchange researchers from non-EU countries with an outstanding academic and/or professional experience who want to carry out research and teaching assignments and scholarly work for the Erasmus Mundus Masters in Transcultural European Outdoor Studies.

Exchange scholarship holder from non-EU countries are defined as:
  • nationals coming from all countries other than the 27 EU Member States, the EEA-EFTA states (Island, Liechtenstein and Norway) and the candidate countries for accession to the EU (presently Turkey)
  • who are not residents of any of the above countries
  • who have not carried out their main activities (studies, work, etc.) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years in any of the above countries.

As an exchange scholarship holder you could visit one of the three partner Universities to do research and hold lectures. The maximum period for scholarship support is 3 months. More particular, EMMC exchange lecturers getting an Erasmus Mundus scholarship support must:

  • commit themselves to actively participate in the masters course activities;
  • spend a minimum of two weeks and a maximum of three months in the partner institution;
  • perform teaching/research/student tutoring activities in the European partner institute
  • bring concrete added value to the course and students (through teaching of specific classes, leading and participating in seminars or workshops, monitoring and tutoring student research/project activities, participating in thesis reviews, preparing new teaching modules, etc.);
  • contribute, after their visiting scholar activities, to the promotion and dissemination of the Erasmus Mundus Programme in general, and the EMMC concerned in particular, in their university and country of origin.


Applications for the academic year 2016-2017 and the following years are taken from 01 March 2015. The modules which are taught in the TEOS course can be found here. The students will be together at those three Universities in separate units.

Available positions for exchange lecturer

We have suspended the course at the moment while we apply for further funding for student bursaries. There will be no admissions in 2017 or 2018. Please follow this website for updated information. 

 

 

 

 

Exchange lecturers are asked to apply online in order to be accepted by the TEOS consortium. They can apply to the TEOS consortium on their own initiative or can be invited by the TEOS consortium to apply.  The completed form, together with all the documents (curriculum vitae, publication list…) should be sent to

The selection of grantees is based on the academic performance and credentials of the candidates, in order to guarantee the selection of high-quality exchange lecturers. The following criteria will be considered: CV, teaching and research experience in the field, knowledge of English. The applications will be reviewed by the TEOS consortium. The TEOS consortium will propose the selected lecturers/researchers for the Erasmus Mundus grants. The TEOS consortium will inform them about the selection results as soon as possible.

Scholarship support is provided by the European Commission and should cover travel and living expenses for a working assignment of maximum 3 months. The amount of living allowance (including travel costs) varies from €2,400 for a 2-week stay to €14,400 for a 3 month stay (€1,200/week).
