Recommended Order of Study

The sequence of modules recommended by the department is presented in the so-called 'order of study'. Although this is not binding, it does take into account the sensible sequence of the modules in terms of content, as well as a workload that is as consistent as possible during the course of study. If deviations from this recommended course of studies are intended (e.g. due to a longer internship or a stay abroad), it is recommended to make an appointment with the student advisor in advance in order to plan the further study order.

Mathematics (M.Sc.) Start in Wintersemester or Summersemester 1. Semester: Advanced or Specialization Module in Pure Mathematics (9 CP), Advanced or Specialization Module in Applied Mathematics (6 CP), Specialization Module in Mathematics (6 CP), Selected Advanced Topics in Mathematics A (Seminar) (3 LP), Profile Area Module (6 CP) 2. Semester: Specialization Module in Applied Mathematics (9 CP), Specialization Module in Mathematics (6 CP), Selected Advanced Topics in Mathematics B (Seminar) (3 CP), Mathematical Software Project (6 CP), Profile Area Module (6 CP) 3. Semester: Specialization Module in Pure Mathematics (9 CP), Specialization Module in Mathematics (6 CP), Independent Scientific Practice Mathematics (9 CP), Profile Area Module (6 CP) 3. and 4. Semester: Master Thesis (30 CP)
