Information about contributions and fees
If you want to enroll, or are already enrolled and want to continue your studies at Marburg University (re-registration), you have to pay a so-called semester fee, the breakdown for which is shown in the following table. Fees are charged among other things for duplicate copies of documents and for guest auditors (see below).
From the summer term 2026 (1st April 2026), the DB long-distance ticket will no longer be available.
Details about the digital student ID can be found here.
The fee for summerterm 2026 ist 405,80- €.
Information about the amount and future of the semester ticket can be found here. The composition of the semester fee can be found on the German website here.
If the actual contribution amount turns out to be lower or higher, you can check in the MARVIN portal via "My Studies" - "Study Services" - "Payments" whether there is still an outstanding claim or a credit balance. Any credit balance will be offset against the coming semester, any amount still outstanding must be paid subsequently.
The final amount of the semester fee is usually determined between mid-January and mid-February for a summer semester and between mid-June and mid-July for a winter semester. You can complete online enrollment with the provisional semester fee.
Foreign students can be exempted from the administrative fee if international or supranational agreements and interuniversity agreements guarantee exemption from duties. This applies to students who are studying at Marburg through exchange programs. They will pay a fee reduced by €50.00 (= contribution to administrative costs).
