Dear Students,

First, we hope that you are still motivated and successful during the current second examination period, and that afterwards, you will be able to recharge your batteries for the winter semester.

The University of Marburg is planning to introduce a 3G rule for all events in the winter semester, to enable an extensive range of face-to-face courses and higher room capacities this winter semester. This new regulation has already been discussed in the university's Senate and approved by all the university's status groups.

Specifically, the introduction of the 3G rule means that only those who have been vaccinated, recovered from a coronavirus infection, or tested will be admitted to face-to-face courses. At the same time, the University of Marburg neither provides nor mediates test capacities. The concrete implementation of the 3G rule is currently still being worked out by the university´s presidium and central administration; but we will keep you up to date per email, as usual. Please also check the university's corona information pages regularly. Among other things, it is planned that you should be given the opportunity to record your vaccination or recovery status to make the checks easier. We therefore appeal to you to get vaccinated.

However, we would like to give you the following information on the implementation of 3G in Hessen:

To prepare for the winter semester, we ask you to register for courses in MARVIN by October 14, 2021, at the latest. This registration is used for face-to-face events to speed up the 3G checks; In the case of online courses, it is the basis for giving you access to ILIAS and video conferences. The MARVIN tab "Parallelgroups / Appointments" of a respective course shows you how it takes place: If you see a booked room, the course will take place face-to-face or, where applicable, in hybrid form. Please note that some dates (e.g. for seminars) have not yet been decided upon. For more information, please read the course descriptions in MARVIN or on the websites of the professorships.

Of course, we are still there for you and will be happy to answer any questions - and of course any suggestions.

Kind regards
