MINKA Indoor Navigation Tool to Marburg's university buildings is online
Online since the start of the summer semester: MINKA, the Marburg indoor map. Finding your way around in the various different buildings of Marburg University is a real challenge: Where is the lecture hall for my exam? How do I get to the examination office by elevator? Is there a baby changing room or an all-gender toilet? With the MINKA indoor map, there is now a digital solution that makes it easier for students, staff and visitors to find their way around in the university buildings.
A project team of students from the Graphics and Multimedia working group led by Prof. Dr. Thorsten Thormählen has completely mapped thirteen buildings so far, including the New Seminar Building at Pilgrimstein (Neues Seminargebäude am Pilgrimstein), the Old University at Lahntor (Alte Universität am Lahntor) and the multi-purpose building on the Lahnberge (Mehrzweckgebäude). All seminar rooms and lecture halls, toilets, elevators and other work rooms can be found in the interactive map. The Department of Facility Management and Technology prepares the information of the site plans and rooms and, after careful examination, passes it on to the IT working group for integration into the indoor map.
