Durch ein Praktikum sollen Sie erste Einblicke in ein späteres Berufsfeld erwerben. Das Hineinschnuppern in eine bestimmte Branche, in einen bestimmten Firmentyp oder in eine bestimmte Tätigkeitsrichtung dient der persönlichen Orientierung. Auch die Suche nach einem Praktikumsgeber und der Bewerbungsprozess gehören zur Lehrform Praktikum.

The purpose of an internship is to give you your first glimpse into a future field of occupation. The idea behind it is to help you to get a taste of a certain branch of industry, a certain type of company or a certain occupational field that serves your personal interests. The search for an internship provider and the application process are also considered to be part of the internship module.

Praktikumsplatz

Sie müssen sich zunächst selbstständig um einen Praktikumsplatz bemühen. Sollten bei der Suche nach einem Praktikumsplatz Unsicherheiten bestehen oder während des Praktikums unvorhergesehene Schwierigkeiten auftreten, wenden Sie sich bitte an Ihre Mentor_innen.

Internship position

First, you have to apply for an internship independently. Should there be any uncertainties in the search for an internship place or should unforeseen difficulties arise during the internship, please contact your mentor.

Furthermore, make sure you pay attention to the services available from the Career Center concerning a variety of topics:

Advice on job search and professional orientation
Events concerning your studies and job perspectives
Professional practice series: Presentation of various professions from the humanities and social sciences. You might want to consider these for internships as well.
Career information: List of possible occupational fields for humanities and social sciences graduates and for graduates of the BA Anglophone Studies program
