The Glocalization of Development

08.-11.07.2015

Schloss Herrenhausen, Hannover

For four days more than 40 researchers and practitioners met at Schloss Herrenhausen in Hanover to discuss the glocalization and negotiation of global norms and institutions in the context of development. International top-level scholars and experts from the field of development aid engaged actively with young scholars. The interdisciplinary background of the participants, ranging from anthropology to international relations, from economics to education, made the discussions at the conference a big success. Perspectives on the glocalization of development were discussed with a focus on how global institutions, norms and globally legitimized scripts of development are translated into national and local contexts within the framework of development policies, and what kind of negotiation processes can be observed in this context.
