The workshop addresses doctoral candidates and postdocs of the social sciences and humanities who have good command of the English language, seek to improve their English writing skills, and strive to make their academic papers more idiomatic. Although any researcher proficient in English is welcome to attend, German native speakers can be expected to benefit most.
The workshop will be conducted in English by two trainers who are native speakers of English and German, have a professional background in the social sciences, and have many years of experience in translating and editing academic texts by German-speaking scholars.
There will be three two-hour follow-up sessions in monthly intervals (January 15, 2016, 3 pm – 5:30 pm, February 12, 2016, 3 pm – 5:30 pm, and March 11, 2016, 3 pm – 5:30 pm) to give participants the opportunity to discuss their texts and other issues that may have emerged since the workshop.
