Writing Lab – English Academic Writing for the Humanities and Social Sciences

12. Dezember 2019 10:00 – 13. Dezember 2019 17:30

Philipps-Universität Marburg, MARA, F|05, Deutschhausstraße 11+13, 1st floor, seminar room 01.0030

The workshop addresses doctoral candidates and postdocs of the humanities and social sciences who have good command of the English language, seek to improve their English writing skills, and strive to make their academic papers more idiomatic. Although any researcher proficient in English is welcome to attend, German native speakers can be expected to benefit most.

The workshop will be conducted in English by two trainers who have a professional background in the social sciences and many years of experience both in teaching English academic writing and in translating and editing academic texts by German-speaking scholars. There will be a follow-up session (February 03, 2020, 2 pm–5 pm) to give participants the opportunity to discuss their texts and other issues that may have emerged since the workshop.
