How to enter the German job market – A general overview about the Application Procedure

Description:

This workshop offers an essential guide for international students aiming to enter the German job market. They will gain valuable insights into German labor laws and discover how and where to find jobs. Moreover, they will learn how to create unique  application documents that stand out. An exemplary cover letter, that proved to be successful on the German job market, will be distributed. The group will analyze it in group work. Moreover, the students will practice presenting themselves well in order to be prepared for job interviews. There will be a little quiz by the end of the session testing how well the participants would answer interview questions. As a final remark, throughout the whole workshop, there will be opportunities to connect with fellow students, share experiences, and expand one's own professional network.

Trainer: Sandra Bolesch is a freelance career coach and has been working as a social advisor for international students at FH Dortmund since 2020. In this role, she helps new students in Germany to better understand German culture, including campus life at a German university and the German job market.
