German Civil Law, German and European Business Law

Institut für das Recht der Digitalisierung (IRDi)

Welcome to the website of the Marburg Chair of the German Civil Law and German and European Business Law. The teaching and research activities of Prof. Dr. Florian Möslein and his research assistants cover the fields of corporate and capital market law, banking law, contract law, European law, legal theory and comparative law. Accordingly, the chair constitutes one pillar of the Institute for Commercial, Business and Labor Law. At the same time, it forms the nucleus of the newly founded Institute for Law and Regulation of Digitalization (IRDi).

In terms of content, our research revolves primarily around three topics: First, innovation and digitalization; second, social responsibility, especially of companies; and third, the methodological issues of rule-making as a tool to solve the resulting problems in each case by means of law.

All of these issues have global relevance, which is why our research perspective is not limited to German law but is European and comparative. Methods of economic analysis of law are one of our essential tools.
