Dear Students,

Here, too, we would like to warmly welcome all freshmen again; we hope you got through the orientation week well. The lecture period now began today, for which we would like to give you two more tips:

1. Common rooms for changing from face-to-face to online teaching:

The university provides lounges so that those of you who must switch between presence and online in a short period of time and cannot come home in the meantime, can take part in video conferencing classes with a seat and Wi-Fi.

As the number of places is limited, please only use them if it is necessary, but not, for example, for recorded instructional videos. You will be happy to let us know which room is in great demand and at what times and possibly too small.

You can find a list of general common rooms here, under „Fragen zu Studium und Lehre“ - „Wo finde ich Aufenthaltsorte?“.

On site at Faculty 02, the lecture hall AA 110 (Altes Amtsgericht, Universitätsstraße 24, room +1/0100) and the seminar room AP 2 (Am Plan 1-2, room 00011) are open for you at the following times:

  • Mondays from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Tuesdays 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. (only AA 110), 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Wednesdays 10 a.m. - 12 p.m., 12 p.m. - 2 p.m., 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. (AA 110 only)
  • Thursdays 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. (AP 2 only), 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Fridays 10 a.m.-12 p.m. (AP 2 only), 12 noon-2 p.m. (AP 2 only)

You must bring headphones with you - please do not use your speakers.

When using the common rooms, please ensure that you adhere to distances, the use of a mask and the usual hygiene rules; please also ventilate by opening the windows, if necessary. Use the Wi-Fi in these rooms only for online teaching. And finally, please leave these rooms as tidy as you would like to find them again yourself.

2. Event registration, sending of access data, ILIAS course admission:

As announced, the course registration should help you to get into the ILIAS courses where the MARVIN-ILIAS link is used and to support the 3G admission to face-to-face events.

One request: The sending of these emails or the inclusion in the ILIAS courses does not necessarily take place today, but rather in the coming days or weeks, for example in the case of events that start (significantly) later. So please wait a little longer with any queries as to why you have not yet received an email - in the case of face-to-face events, at least until the first appointment. For online courses, please contact us or the lecturer 1-2 days before the first appointment if you have not been included in ILIAS by then or have not received an email with access data.

If you have not yet registered for modules in MARVIN or have not been able to register, this is not a problem. Registration in MARVIN is possible at any time for most courses (without space restrictions); If you come later, please ask the respective research group for the access.

3. Also important:

The following information is worth knowing about the implementation of 3G in Hessen:

Of course, we are still there for you and will be happy to answer any questions - and of course any suggestions.

Best regards
