08.10.2025 Module Update for the Upcoming Semester: Applied Econometrics and Empirical Macroeconomics

Dear Students,
From the upcoming semester onwards, the previous module, formerly titled
'Empirical Macroeconomics', will be divided into two distinct courses.
The foundational econometric content will now be covered by the newly
established 'Applied Econometrics' course. The more advanced econometric
techniques, with a focus on time-series analysis and macroeconomic
applications, will be offered through the restructured 'Empirical
Macroeconomics' course.
The organisation is unusual. The taught part of the 'Applied Econometrics'
course will run until the Christmas break. The 'Empirical Macroeconomics'
course will commence after the Christmas break in January and will be
taught twice per week, using the teaching slots of the Applied Econometrics
course plus an additional lecture slot on Wednesday from 8:15 to 9:45.
The exam for 'Applied Econometrics' will take place outside the usual exam
period, on 19 January (10:00-12:00). The exam for the new Empirical
Macroeconomics course is scheduled for the usual exam period.
