Reports & oral examinations (colloquium/oral defence/final modules)
I am a first reviewer. Where can I find the form for submitting the topic?
Are you responsible for the initial assessment of a B.A. or M.A. thesis? If so, you will find the form for setting a topic here. The form must be completed, signed and ideally sent to the Examination Office in the original either by you or the candidate in a sealed envelope. Scanned documents are also acceptable.
Can I sign the report digitally?
Ideally, original signatures are required for applications for theses and reports. If this is not possible (e.g., due to the teacher being abroad), the necessary documents can be signed by hand and photographed or scanned. The original signed document must be available in the event of a lawsuit.
I am a second reviewer. What should I do?
Are you responsible as the second reviewer for a BA or MA thesis? If you agree with the first report on all points and wish to give the same rating, no further extensive explanation of the reasons is required. A second report with the following text is sufficient with respect to the PA decision “I agree with the assessment of the first reviewer submitted by [first name of first reviewer] for the bachelor’s/master’s thesis on all points and I also award the thesis [grade points] points.”
What should I do as an examiner for oral examinations in the final module or at oral defences?
If an oral examination/colloquium/oral defence is planned according to the doctoral degree/Degree Program and Examination Regulations, you will find the protocol form here. Please complete, sign and return this form to the Examination Office after the examination.
