On this fairy-tale trail you can discover 15 fairy tale figures while going up to the upper city and finally up to the castle of the Landgrave. These figures are implemented on walls or staircases. You have to pay attention while discovering the city for not missing one of them!

    Elisabeth church (‘Elisabethkirche’)
This church acted as an important church for the Teutonic Order and as a church of pilgrimage due to the grave of Saint Elisabeth.

    Tower of emperor Wilhelm (‘Kaiser-Wilhelm-Turm’)
This tower, which is called as the “Spiegellustturm”, was built between 1887 and 1890. It has 167 steps inside and you can enjoy a breathtaking view from the observation platform on the fairytale city of Marburg. Do not miss to go up the tower!

Historical old town and the town hall (‘Historische Altstadt und Rathaus’)
Discover Marburg from its beautiful historical side: in this part of the city, which is called as the “Oberstadt”, the “upper city”, you can relax in Cafés and taste the traditional dish of Marburg, the so-called “Auflauf” (casserole). The central market square attracts visitors with its Gothic town hall from the 16th century.

     Old University (‘Alte Universität’)
It has been the world’s first Protestant university, which was founded by Landgrave Philipp the Magnanimous (in 1527). Next to it, you will find the 500 years older university church from the 14th century.
