14.10.2026 Postgradual Qualification Programme Beginning in October 2026

Our institute offers the opportunity to undertake a postgraduate qualification programme. The participation in the programme is intended to lay the foundations for high-quality doctoral theses in the fields of the history of pharmacy, the history of medicine, and the history of (natural) sciences.

A new course will start in the winter semester 2026/2027.

Target groups:
 - Graduates of pharmacy programmes,
 - Graduates and students (who have passed the Physikum) of medicine, or
 - Graduates of other natural science and life science disciplines (state examination/medical licence, diploma, Master’s degree).

Duration of the programme: two semesters.

We offer: Introductions to all relevant methodological and theoretical foundations for the successful completion of a dissertation grounded in the humanities and cultural studies. In addition, through a series of lectures, we provide you with an overview of the research fields within the history of pharmacy, medicine, the natural sciences and the history of science.

The actual work on the doctoral thesis follows on from the qualification programme and may also be carried out externally, supported by regular supervision meetings and colloquia.
