Our research group at the University of Münster focuses on the discovery and elucidation of so far unknown “alternative” CO2-fixing pathways in environmentally relevant microbes. We combine microbiology and biochemistry to understand and characterize the underlying enzymology of CO2-fixation. In the M4C initiative, we focus on the molecular understanding of these alternative CO2-fixation mechanism in bacteria and archaea.

Research Focus:

Microbes as Drivers; Microbes as Responders
