After completing the M.Sc. in Biomedical Science you can work in the following fields:

  • participation in basic research in biomedical and biological research groups in university institutes, Max Planck Institutes and federal research facilities
  • applied research and involvement in drug development in the pharmaceutical industry or in biotech companies.
  • participation in clinical research in laboratories of the university hospitals or other activities in clinical settings (e.g., in clinical-chemical laboratories, human genetics, or cell culture).
  • work in the fields of bioinformatics
  • further training to become a patent attorney
  • tasks in forensic science
  • employment with supervisory authorities

This is only a selection of possible fields of work. It is recommended to already research different work opportunities during your Masters to help with a successful start into your career. One possibility to help with this is the supplementary subject "career design", which offers insight into different career paths. Another option is the  Career Service offered by the university .
