Career Paths in Intercultural Communication
Cultural Journalism (Arts and Culture Section), Cultural and Public Relations Work, Bilateral and Multilateral Trade and Negotiation, International Correspondence
It’s probably a truism: those who are knowledgeable about culture are also best positioned to write about it! Reporting on culture and cultures, thereby making them visible, serves not only educational purposes (see below), but also entertainment – and the world wants to be entertained. Cultural work is real work, always intercultural work, because cultural creators, whether domestic or foreign, always represent their own cultural system. Having internalized a high-level comparative perspective during one’s studies is a decisive contribution to success. Opportunities usually arise through internships, which in the modern media environment are also organized as traineeships.
