Consultation on career orientation and career entry

Please send your appointment request by email to . We would like to ask you to provide your telephone number and your degree program and to briefly describe the topic you would like to discuss in the consultation. Our consultations can be offered in German or English, in person or via video conference.

What topics can I discuss in the consultation?

  • Studies and career
  • Starting a career and working conditions (in Germany)
  • Residence regulations for international students
  • Application documents and application process
  • Job market and possible career paths
  • Job search: internships, part-time jobs, and full-time employment
  • Analysis of individual skills
  • Master's degree or career entry after a bachelor's degree?
  • Dropping out of university, doubts about studying and alternative paths

We cannot find you a full-time job, internship, or part-time job, but we can provide you with useful information for your own research.

Combined study and job counseling

If needed, we can also arrange a combined study and career counseling session with the Marburg Employment Agency. We invite Ms. Bettina Zietz, a career counselor for academic professions, to participate in this session. This counseling service is only offered in German.

Available time slots:

  • Tuesdays at 2pm or 3pm via video conference
  • Thursdays at 3pm or 4pm in person (Biegenstr. 10, Central Student Advisory Service)

Peer consultation for international students: job search & scholarship search

Our trained international peers will help you find suitable job portals for part-time jobs, internships, and career entry. They can also assist you in finding suitable scholarships and help you navigate the wide range of options available. The peer consultation is offered in German and English.

The peer consultation service is for international students who intend to graduate from the University of Marburg (degree seekers), not for exchange students.
