Application and Registration

So you are interested in coming to Philipps-Universität Marburg, Germany!

With the Erasmus+ programme of the European Commission you may have the chance to go to Europe for your studies. Your home university has an exchange agreement with Philipps-Universität Marburg in Germany, offering a limited number of mobility grants for students.

If you would like to apply for Erasmus+ at Philipps-Universität Marburg, please get in touch with the Interantional office at your home university for further information.

Basic Facts

The programme Erasmus+ Mobility with Partner Countries focuses on the exchange of students and staff between European Higher Education Institutions and universities outside Europe.

Students who are selected for Erasmus+ mobility for studies will have the opportunity to come to the European partner university for one or two semesters. Participants will receive a grant by the host institution.

Conditions for Participation

The following basic requirements have to be considered for the participation in the programme:

Students must

  • have completed at least the first year of Bachelor when they start their study abroad mobility
  • remain registered at their home institution
  • agree on a course of study for their period abroad before the start of the mobility, summarized in a Learning Agreement
  • have sufficient language competence to follow the course of studies proposed; required language could be English or German, depending on the courses in question.

The details of the regulations are summarized in the Erasmus+ Student Charter.

Additional criteria may be defined by your home institution. Please refer to the specific information published in your university, or contact your International Office.

Selection Criteria

The selection criteria for participants are defined by the sending higher education institution, in agreement with the receiving institution. The first criterion should be academic merit, but with equivalent academic level, preference should be assigned to students from less advantaged socio-economic backgrounds. The selection of participants, as well as the procedure for awarding them a grant, must be fair, transparent and documented.

Participants will receive all further information for a successful start in Marburg after they have been nominated at Philipps-Universität Marburg.
