Libraries
The cooperative two-tiered library system of Philipps-Universität Marburg comprises the university library and about 100 departmental libraries (branch libraries, specialized libraries and institute libraries, etc.). The university library, the history of which stretches back to the founding of the Philipps-Universität Marburg, currently comprises about 1.9 million volumes.
- University Computer Centre
The university computer Centre is the main university facility for information processing and communications technology. The university computer Centre provides processing and communication services to students, staff and partners of the university, and operates the required computing infrastructure for the university.

Sports Centre
The University Sports Centre offers all members of the university a wide range of sports activities from water sports such as sailing and rowing, to traditional popular sports such as soccer and gymnastics, down to martial arts.
- University Archive
The university archive stores documents which are no longer required for the day-to-day running of the university administration. They are categorized and made available to researchers as well as the university itself.
- Language Centre of Philipps-Universität
Marburg
The language laboratory, founded in 1969, became the language Centre in 2000 in order to offer foreign language courses to non-language students of the different departments. The extended range of services, which have been specially tailored to individual requirements based on the latest research findings, is now available at a central location.
- Central Development Laboratory for
Electronics
The Central Development Laboratory for Electronics develops electronic instruments required for research projects conducted at the Philipps-Universität Marburg that are not commercially available. It provides advice on how to plan experiments and on where to acquire commercial instruments, and establishes contacts to other scientists to solve complex research tasks. The laboratory’s main areas of activity are measurement technology and sensor systems, medical electronics, experiment automation and control as well as aerospace electronics and technology.

TransMIT works at the interface between universities and businesses. It helps scientists to protect their inventions and to market technology and developments.
- Transfer Centre of Central
Hessen
The joint information office of the universities of Marburg and Giessen and the College of Higher Education in Giessen-Friedberg supports the universities in central Hessen with technology and knowledge transfer.
