... at the Center for Conflict Studies (CCS). The Center for Conflict
Studies is a transdisciplinary organization at Philipps-University of
Marburg. Established in February 2001, it coordinates various
activities in research and teaching focusing on social and
international conflict. Currently more than 90 members from 15
disciplines come together in this forum to discuss further advance
research. Moreover, the CSS cooperates with numerous public and private
national and international institutions. Master of Peace and Conflict Studies
- Since 2004/05, the Center for Conflict Studies has been offering a two-year master program in peace and conflict studies. The program aims to qualify students (1) to analyze political conflicts on a global level, (2) to consider options of conflict resolution and (3) to engage in conflict management. Analytical and practical skills as well as other necessary key qualifications are taught within the framework of an internationally oriented and interdisciplinary curriculum. Research
- The Center for Conflict Studies exels through a high level of
multi- and interdisciplinary cooperations. The CSS mainly focuses
on "Norm conflict and Norm development", "Violence Research",
"Intergroup Conflicts", "Interdisciplinary Theory Building", "Theories
of Peace and Conflict", "Transnational and International Conflicts" and
"Conflict Settlement".
