Research

The Center for Conflict Studies is a scientific institution with a strong commitment to research that has existed for 15 years in today’s form. The Center has been able to define its own independent interdisciplinary research profile as a result of strategic fundraising efforts from outside donors, targeted staff selection and by involving researchers from other departments at the University of Marburg working on topics that are relevant for our purposes.

The Center’s main research topics interrelate with the analysis of local and global norms, structures or actors, as well as their interrelationships. Methodologically, research is strongly pluralistic. At the same time, most research is based on theoretically-driven, comparative and qualitative methods, as well as the collection of primary data.
