Philipps-Universität Marburg Centrum für Nah- und Mittelost-Studien (CNMS) Fachgebiet Politik des Nahen und Mittleren OstensCamila Ponce Lara is a researcher and a postdoc in the collaborative research project extractivism.de. Her research project is a comparation between Chile and Morocco and it focuses on the extractivism model, resistances, and developments alternatives.
Camila Ponce Lara completed her PhD in sociology at the la École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales de Paris. She also studied her Master‘s degree in Comparatives Politics in Latin America at Sciences-Po Paris and she studied sociology at the Pontificia Universidad Católica of Chile. She made a postdoctoral stay at Universidad de Costa Rica and Université Catholique de Louvain. She has also been a researcher and academic at Universidad Central de Chile and Universidad Católica Silva Henríquez. She is part of the board committee of the Research Committee on Social Classes and Social Movements (RC47) of the International Sociological Association (ISA) and the GT of childhood and youth of CLACSO.
She has conducted research in Chile, Costa Rica, Palestine, and Egypt. She recently edited the book "Young feminist activisms: Emergencies, actresses and struggles in Latin America" together with Marina Larrondo, for CLACSO.
