Aleksandra Matczyńska

A PhD candidate at the Institute of Art of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw, where she is writing a thesis about the artistic commissions of noblewomen in Silesia, Lusatia and Saxony in the years 1520–1620, under the supervision of Prof. dr. Jan Harasimowicz and Prof. Dr. Katarzyna Mikocka-Rachuba. She studied Art History at the University of Wrocław and the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich. Currently she works in two academic projects: Residenzstädte im Alten Reich (1300–1800). Urbanität im integrativen und konkurrierenden Beziehungsgefüge von Herrschaft und Gemeinde (Akademie der Wissenschaften zu Göttingen) and Protestant Church Architecture of the 16th–18th centuries in Europe (University of Wrocław).
