Before the start of the course
How and when can I see how many students have registered for my course?
As a lecturer, you can log in to MARVIN and display the number of registered participants (only possible on the university network/via VPN access):
Select “Course administrator decentralized” > Teaching organization > My courses and examinations > Courses/performers.You can also use MARVIN to create lists of participants and e-mail distribution lists for contacting them.
Attention: If the registration period (GER) for the course is still running, students can continue to register and deregister.
Minor subject students sometimes for technical reasons are not yet able to register. If this is the case, you can refer these students to our FAQs for students. If participation is permitted in accordance with the PO, they will be registered as soon as possible and appear on your registration lists.
May I decide on a participation limit/place allocation procedure for my course?
No. However, this may be approved in exceptional cases. To do this, you must submit a well-founded application to the Departmental Council, which will decide on the applications for the following semester (form available via stusek03[at]uni-marburg.de or the form will be sent to you in a timely fashion). All applications for the current semester have already been approved.
What is Reading Week all about?
To counteract the compression of students’ everyday academic life and to improve the academic feasibility of the modularized degree courses, no courses are held during this week. Reading Week is intended to give students the opportunity to deepen or catch up on learning content in self-study, take advantage of additional offerings and prepare for examinations.
During this week, lecturers may offer targeted advising appointments, supervise student working groups or correct student examinations. Reading assignments, examination dates or extracurricular activities can also be planned as part of the courses. Dates and details of Reading Week can be found on our Reading Week website.

How can I make my course accessible?

Why do I not award CP(LP)/ECTS in my course?
ECTS/CP(LP) are awarded exclusively for the completion of TOTAL modules and therefore exclusively and automatically by the Examination Office when issuing the grade overviews.
