ICWC-Database
For over 20 years, the ICWC has been collecting documents on international criminal law proceedings in a relational database. This database is designed to allow researchers and interested parties to locate relevant entries and the associated case materials using just a few key details, such as the names of defendants or the location of the crime.
Particular emphasis should be placed on the sheer volume of collected material. The database contains records of more than 12,000 proceedings against over 30,000 defendants relating to war crimes and National Socialist atrocities. The holdings extend geographically and contextually far beyond materials collected in Germany. The nearly 17 terabytes of data include, among others, documents from Australia, France, Cambodia, and the United States.
On the following pages, you will find an overview of the scope of the collections, database extracts from the ICWC, and a selection of documents relevant to international criminal law.
