Trial at the OLG Frankfurt against Deday A. (2018)
On December 4, 2018, the main trial against Deday A. began at the Higher Regional Court (OLG) Frankfurt for the preparation of a serious state-endangering violent act, support of the foreign terrorist organization “Islamic State” (“IS”), and incitement to commit a serious state-endangering violent act.
The defendant was accused of having planned since 2017 to carry out a suicide attack at an unknown time and place. For this purpose, he had extracted black powder from “Chinese firecrackers.” Furthermore, from 2017 to 2018, he allegedly used Facebook to encourage others to join the “Islamic State” in Syria or Iraq and carry out a suicide attack there. Additionally, the defendant sent a video via Telegram, which was propaganda material of the IS. The video contained instructions for building a handgun.
The defendant was sentenced to a juvenile sentence of two years probation on all charges.
