Trial at the OLG Frankfurt against Mohammed A. (2013)
On November 7, 2013, the main trial against Mohammed A. began at the Higher Regional Court (OLG) Frankfurt, charged with membership in the foreign terrorist organization “Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan” (IMU).
The accused was said to have acted in 2012 as the “representative” of the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan (IMU) in Germany and to have been in constant communication with the group’s leadership via email. He reportedly transmitted material for the IMU’s media work and was authorized to recruit people in Germany for jihad in the Afghan-Pakistani border region and to provide them with the necessary information.
The accused was sentenced to a juvenile prison term, taking into account a prior conviction. The conviction followed a plea agreement pursuant to § 257c of the Code of Criminal Procedure (StPO).
