Trial at the OLG Frankfurt against Ibrahim H. (2019)
Ibrahim H. committed criminal offenses in Syria during the period from 2013 to 2014 through two actions (§ 53 StGB), by being a member of the terrorist organization “Ahrar al-Sham” (§ 129a StGB) and exercising actual control over war weapons (§ 129b StGB). He was recruited and registered by “Ahrar al-Sham” between 2013 and 2014 and, in connection with this, paid 50,000 Syrian Lira to the group. Furthermore, Ibrahim H. received training on war weapons and possessed a Kalashnikov rifle as well as another firearm. This also constituted a violation of the War Weapons Control Act.
On August 26, 2019, the Fifth Criminal Senate sentenced Ibrahim H., then 29 years old, to one year and ten months imprisonment for membership in a terrorist organization abroad.
