The project "Tribute to Foreign Priests" examines the cult personnel in sanctuaries of Egyptian, Syrian, Phrygian and Thracian deities in ancient Greece on the basis of portrait statues, gravestones and inscriptions. In the process, negotiation processes between the institutions of the poleis, cult associations and individuals are made visible.
The dissertation project "Diktynna: Cretan Goddess - Greek Nymph?" examines the facets of the Cretan goddess and the development, dissemination and reception of her cult in the Aegean.
The habilitation project "Imaginary Gods - The Graeco-Egyptian Cults in Athens" investigates how ancient actors made the cults of the gods Isis, Sarapis, Anubis and Harpocrates connectable in the local cult landscape of Athens.
"Mapping Seismic Gods in the Ancient Mediterranean" explores religious coping strategies to earthquakes by analyzing direct links between seismic hazards and divine agency.
The dissertation project "Greek Rock and 'Nature Sanctuaries'" investigates the meaning and role of nature in Greek sanctuaries and cults on the basis of rocks and other natural paintings and spaces.
