Young Researchers Forum
The MCAW's Young Researchers Forum is intended to provide a platform for early career researchers to exchange ideas and develop joint projects. It is aimed specifically at all doctoral students and postdocs from disciplines associated with the MCAW and anyone interested from related disciplines. As this platform is currently in development, we are very happy to hear from anyone interested in getting involved and you are welcome to contact us directly with your suggestions or requests.

Initiatives
Inhalt ausklappen Inhalt einklappen Reading Circle
To exchange exciting, inspiring, innovative research literature and ideas, we aim to support joint reading circles. In 2022-23 a reading circle was held on the topic of archaeological theory. We are keen to continue this, so please get in touch with your wishes or suggestions!
Inhalt ausklappen Inhalt einklappen MCAW Junior Colloquium
As postdocs from the various disciplines associated with the MCAW, we have benefited greatly in recent years from the MCAW’s lecture series and other activities, which have given us the opportunity to talk to researchers from other disciplines and learn about the research approaches in other areas of ancient studies. Encouraged by these positive experiences, we sought ways to involve early career scholars and graduate students in this interdisciplinary process and came up with the idea of a 2-day research colloquium. The first such event was planned for the winter semester 2019/20 but was unfortunately cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We are however keen to see this idea come to fruition again in the near future, so please get in touch if you would like to be involved!
The aim would be to exchange theoretical models and methods from our own disciplines and, above all, to explore the possibility of bringing interdisciplinary research questions and outcomes together in a common framework. This could happen on the basis of research themes currently important to the MCAW (e.g. religious atmosphere) but also on the basis of topics from our own doctoral dissertations and research projects.
