Eligibility assessment process - Psychology: Research and Application (MS) 

Documents to be submitted

The following documents and evidence are required for participation in the eligibility assessment process:

  • Application for admission (online application of the online application portal).
  • The first undergraduate degree with a final grade.
  • The “Transcript of Records” to determine the previous study contents.
  • Proof of English language proficiency at level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages of the Council of Europe.

Applications that are late, incomplete, or are not submitted in the proper form shall not take part in the aptitude assessment procedure.

Criteria for personal subject-related eligibility

On the basis of the documents submitted, the following criteria will be used to assess a candidate’s personal professional aptitude. A total of up to 8 eligibility points can be achieved.

Up to 3.5 aptitude points are earned for subject-related qualifications from the first degree culminating in a professional qualification in the specialisation subjects of the Master’s degree that go beyond the required minimum:

3.5 aptitude points:
at least 12 credit points (according to ECTS) in 2 of the following 3 specialisation subjects:

  • Child and Adolescent Psychology / Educational Psychology / School Psychology
  • Neuro-scientific Psychology
  • Business Psychology / Occupational / Industrial / Organisational Psychology

2.5 aptitude points:
at least 12 credit points (according to ECTS) in one and at least 6 credit points (according to ECTS) in a second of the above-mentioned specialisation subjects

1.5 aptitude points:
at least 12 credit points (according to ECTS) in one or at least 6 credit points (according to ECTS) in each of two of the above-mentioned specialisation subjects

0.5 aptitude point:
at least 6 credit points (according to ECTS) in one of the above-mentioned specialisation subjects

 Up to 4.5 aptitude points are awarded for the final grade or, if the final grade is not yet available, a submitted, calculated average grade based on at least 80% of the credit points required for the Bachelor’s degree according to the following key:

 Grade 0.7 - 1.1 (15.0 - 13.6 grade points) => 4.5 points

Grade 1.2 - 1.7 (13.5 - 11.9 grade points) => 3.5 points

Grade 1.8 - 2.3 (11.8 - 10.0 grade points) => 2.5 points

Grade 2.4 - 3.0 (9.9 - 7.9 grade points) => 1.5 point
