Eligibility assessment process - Psychology: Research and Application (M.Sc.)
1. Documents to be submitted
The following documents and evidence are required for participation in the eligibility assessment process:
- Application for admission (online application of the online application portal).
- The first undergraduate degree with a final grade.
- The “Transcript of Records” to determine the previous study contents.
- Proof of English language proficiency at level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages of the Council of Europe.
- The completed self-disclosure form on psychological diagnostics.
Applications that are late, incomplete, or are not submitted in the proper form shall not take part in the aptitude assessment procedure.
2. Selection procedure
The selection decision among the applicants in the selection procedure is based on the personal suitability points awarded for the selection criteria.
The following achievements must be taken into account when forming the ranking list as part of the selection procedure:
a) Final grade, or, if the final grade is not yet available, a submitted, calculated average grade based on at least 80% of the credit points required for the Bachelor's degree.
b) Subject-specific qualification.
A maximum total of 100 points (total points) can be achieved. The following formula is used to calculate the total number of points:
Total points = points for final grade or average grade (max. 60) + points for subject-specific qualification (max. 40).
1. Points awarded for final grade or average grade
The grade of the degree required for the Master's degree program is converted into points according to the following table. The information is based on the grading scale according to § 28 General Regulations of Philipps-Universität Marburg. In the case of a degree from another university, the decimal grade given by the university applies. There is no conversion to the Marburg grading system. Foreign grades are to be converted into German grades in accordance with the KMK guidelines.

2. Points awarded for subject-specific qualification
For subject-specific qualification, credit points in basic diagnostics are converted into qualification points according to the following table:

To form the ranking list, the scores for the average grade (max. 60 points) and for the subject-specific qualification (max. 40 points) are added together among all applicants (max. 100 points). In the event of a tie, the decision is made by lot in accordance with § 16 Para. 2 HHZV.
