Fees

The regular program fee is € 2,300. Complete your application by April 1 and get an early-bird price of € 2,050.

The fee covers tuition and includes the following:

·         intensive German language course,

·         two academic seminars,

·         one supplement course,

·         study material,

·         accommodation in a single room in one of our student dormitories,

·         health and personal liability insurance for the duration of the program,

·         meal subsidy of € 45 (charged on to a mensa debit card),

·         evening events,

·         monthly ticket for public transportation in Marburg as well as all of Hessen,

·         cultural program (two one-day excursions as well as one weekend trip, opening and closing party, and more!).

The above cannot be booked separately.

 

Additional expenses are

·         individual travel expenses,

·         meals and beverages (e.g. for groceries),

·         personal spending,

·         travel insurance.

We recommend all students to have some cash for the first days (e.g for groceries). Most stores do accept credit cards but please confirm with your bank at home that your card will work abroad. There are money exchanges at the airport. Please note that banks in Marburg will not exchange foreign currencies.

Cancellation:

If for any reason you decide to cancel your ISU application, you must inform the International Summer University in writing immediately. Cancellation takes effect starting from the date when the ISU receives this notification.

Cancellation prior to July 1st of the program year: full refund of the balance of fees paid, minus € 150 non-refundable service fee.

Cancellation after July 1st of the program year: no fees can be refunded.

 

Cancellation due to visa denial:

In case of visa denial and the subsequent inability to attend the program, the program fee (with bank fees and non-refundable service fee to be deducted) will be refunded. This, however, does not apply if the visa denial is caused by personal negligence (e.g. admitting inauthentic or incomplete documents). The official visa denial (a written letter by the German embassy) must be sent as proof. In case of visa denial, cancellation is eligible up to a week before the program starts
