Creative collaboration at the university? Of course! We see creativity as an essential part of scientific work and research.
Only those who think creatively can ask new questions and develop ideas and solutions for the world of tomorrow.
Collaboration beyond the boundaries of one's own discipline broadens perspectives and enables a better understanding of complex interrelationships. Creative collaboration generates innovation and enables the realisation of new ideas and transformative concepts for the future.

To initiate, develop and implement new, innovative research, cooperation and transfer projects, UMR has set up creative and interconnected workspaces under the name XSpaces: The Creative Space offers young scientists the space for creative project development, networking events, workshops, coaching sessions, etc. and supports the initiation and implementation of innovative ideas as well as the communication of results in science and society. With this offer, the Creative Space strengthens scientific networking, creative knowledge work and the promotion of personal career planning and development of future top researchers.

The Makerspace at the Marburger Instituts für Innovationsforschung und Existenzgründungsförderung (MAFEX) is a place of creativity for generating ideas and prototypes that can also be realised directly on site.

The Game Lab offers the opportunity to research computer and video games, virtual reality apps as well as serious games and evaluate them for use in research and teaching. The Open Lab supports collaborative digital work and offers opportunities for scanning 3D objects and 3D printing.
