The Creative Space

The Creative Space offers the opportunity to work together creatively in a stimulating atmosphere.

The Creative Space rooms are located on the 1st floor at Bahnhofstr. 7. "Club Behring" (+1/0020), the first Creative Space room, has been available to doctoral students and postdocs in particular since November 2023 for joint project development and for organising workshops, smaller conferences, lectures, panel discussions, networking events, etc.

  • What kind of events can I organise in the Creative Space?

    "Club Behring" offers the opportunity to realise various usage scenarios.

    The room called "Club Behring"  offers you various possibilities for use:

    Setting 1: Workshop / meeting with up to 20 people
    Setting 2: Workshop with 3 "working stations" of 7 people each
    Setting 3: Lecture with row seating for up to 35 people
    Setting 4: Standing reception for up to 50 people

  • What equipment is available?

    The room has a 98'' monitor and a rollable 86'' Clevertouch monitor for collaborative editing of documents, as a whiteboard, for hybrid work, for presentations, etc. Three movable work boards can be used as moderation walls, pin boards, memo boards, etc. For hybrid events, you can use a conference system. There are also two pairs of headphones for hosting video conferences.

  • Additional photography equipment

    We provide the following photography equipment for use in the Creative Space:
    Camera: Nikon Z6 III – full-frame mirrorless camera, 24.5 MP
    Lens: NIKKOR Z 24–70 mm f/4 S – wide-angle to portrait
    Memory card: 128 GB (inserted)
    Charger & spare battery: Original charger + charged spare battery
    Tripod: Manfrotto Nitrotech 608 – fluid video head, load capacity up to 8 kg

    You can use this equipment, for example, to:
    - Create professional portraits and photos of people
    - Carrying out product and still life photography for projects or presentations
    - Recording high-quality videos and moving images
    - Capturing images of rooms or events
    - Bringing creative visual ideas to life using professional equipment

    Please indicate when booking if you wish to use the equipment. 
    Please also note the even more extensive range of services offered by the University Library’s Media Centre (https://ubmarburg.simren.de/users), where you can borrow multimedia equipment such as laptops, projectors, cameras, audio systems and related accessories, and use them free of charge for research, teaching and study.
    For more complex projects, the Film Space might also be of interest.

  • Consulting

    We will be happy to advise you on which event format is suitable for the realisation of your idea and provide you with conceptual support. Do you lack technical know-how, do you need financial support for the realisation of your idea or do you need external contributors? Please contact us - we are well connected and will endeavour to find a suitable solution for you.

  • Conference Organization

    The Creative Space is well suited for hosting workshops and (smaller) conferences. The guide (in German) compiled by the Project Management Office can be helpful for the organization.

  • How much does the booking cost?

    The booking is free of charge.
    For "Setting 3: Lecture with row seating" you have to calculate 3,- € / chair, for "Setting 4: Reception with bar tables" 3,- € / table.
    If you leave the room very dirty, you may have to pay for special cleaning.
  • How can I book "Club Behring"?

    Please use for your booking request the booking calender.

    The following time slots are available:
    Morning (09.00 - 12.00)
    Afternoon (14.00 - 17.00)
    All day (09.00 - 17.00)
    The organisation of events outside these slots is only possible by special request.

  • What about coffee/water/tea?

    But gladly. We provide coffee, tea, sugar, oat milk, and water in the Creative Space.

  • Catering

    We are also happy to assist you if you require catering for your event. For this purpose, we collaborate with various catering providers in Marburg. An overview of the university-wide catering framework agreements can be found on this page (internal). Through these agreements, you can order catering packages at fixed prices. These packages are aligned with Philipps University Marburg’s hospitality guidelines.

  • Childcare

    In the Creative Space we have a play box with toys and craft supplies for children from 0.5 to approx. 10 years.
    Unfortunately, we are unable to offer regular childcare in-house. On the Family Service website, you can find out more about the free Flexi childcare service, a free childcare service outside of the regular childcare that employees of Philipps-Universität Marburg can take advantage of.

  • Directions and accessibility

    The Creative Space with the currently open room "Club Behring" is located on the 1st floor of Bahnhofstraße 7 (to the right of the Chemikum). The room number is +1/0020.
    The Creative Space is a 5-minute walk from Marburg railway station, the bus stop "Marburg Bahnhofstraße" is almost on the doorstep. Numerous bus lines stop here. Bicycle stands can be found in front of the Chemikum, about 30 metres to the left of the entrance to the Creative Space. Paid parking is available in Bahnhofstraße or in the nearby multi-storey car parks/areas "Parkplatz Afföllerwiesen" or "Parkhaus Oberstadt".

    The Creative Space has limited barrier-free access. It is located on the 1st floor of Bahnhofstraße 7 and can be reached by lift, which is accessible without steps via the rear of the building.  You can get there via the parking lot, the entrance to which is to the left of the Chemikum. The door at the rear of the building is locked. We will be happy to open the door for you by prior appointment. 
    Please note: The lift offers little space for manoeuvring. Please contact us in advance if you use a larger or electric wheelchair.
    The Creative Space rooms themselves are barrier-free.
