... to the website for the Center for Conflict Studies (CCS). The
Center is a central facility of the Philipps University in Marburg for
interdisciplinary collaboration and the study of peace and conflict. It
was founded in February, 2001 and combines various teaching and
research activities that concentrate on central areas of societal and
international conflict.

![]() MA Programme Peace and Conflict StudiesSince 2004/05, the Center for Conflict Studies has been offering a two-year master program in peace and conflict studies. The program aims to qualify students (1) to analyze political conflicts on a global level, (2) to consider options of conflict resolution and (3) to engage in conflict management. Analytical and practical skills as well as other necessary key qualifications are taught within the framework of an internationally oriented and interdisciplinary curriculum. ![]() International Double Award "Peace and Conflict Studies (PACS)"Since the academic year 2011/12 the Center for Conflict Studies at
the University of Marburg has been offering in cooperation with the
School of Politics and International Relations at the University of
Kent a double MA Programme in Peace and Conflict Studies. Students can
opt to spent the first year in Canterbury and the second year in
Marburg, where courses will be taught in English. The multidisciplinary
programm draws on the vast pool of expertise on conflict analysis,
management ans resolution at Kent and Marburg. |

The CCS mainly focuses on "Norm conflict and Norm development", "Violence Research", "Intergroup Conflicts", "Interdisciplinary Theory Building", "Theories of Peace and Conflict", "Transnational and International Conflicts" and "Conflict Settlement". |
