Sustainability Network

With the establishment of a sustainability network, the Marburg University is driving the sustainable transformation of its campus. Internal sustainability officers strengthen coordination and support the implementation of sustainability initiatives. Externally, the university maintains close exchanges with other universities, municipalities and authorities to collaboratively advance sustainability topics and involve all relevant partners.

Sustainability Officers

Sustainability Officers serve as local points of contact within departments and facilities and act as a link to central structures. They consolidate information, share best-practice examples, help staff and students to promote and experience sustainability in a coordinated way on site.
You can find the list with each department's sustainability officer and a way to contact them here.

Network for Sustainability at Hessian Universities - NNHH

The  Network for Sustainability at Hessian Universities (NNHH) is a statewide networking platform for all higher education institutions in Hesse in the field of sustainability. It was founded in 2022 on the initiative of the Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen (THM) to connect those responsible for sustainability at Hessian universities. The University of Marburg views sustainability as a cross-cutting task to be anchored in teaching, research, transfer, and campus operations, and therefore actively participates in the Network for Sustainability at Hessian Universities (NNHH).
