In this module, the students learn about the different approaches of digital humanities and social sciences through research-practical presentations (in a lecture series) as well as readings and theoretical/methodological foundation texts (in seminars). After completing this module, the students can name the research topics and approaches in the digital humanities and social sciences as well as give an overview about this interdisciplinary field. They are able to depict the methods and theories in their own words and discuss them. They can independently work through unfamiliar approaches, present them and compare them with other approaches. Respective of the subject they previously studied in their Bachelor’s, they can apply the theories and methods of the digital humanities and social sciences based on their specific disciplinary contexts. |
