Content and learning outcomes

In the module, students deal with the effects of the digital transformation of social areas in a problem-based and in-depth manner within the framework of their own small projects. They also exploratively and experimentally test out digital tools, applications and visualizations. 

After completing the module, students are able to analyze the effects of digitalization on specific areas of society independently and based on theory. The students are able to design and carry out scientific analyses in a supervised group. They are able to structure and plan work processes in a team. They can present and discuss the results of their work in accordance with scientific standards. They can also assess and critically evaluate the social effects of digitalization.

  • Project seminar (2 hours per week)

  • Time spent in the seminar: 30 hours
  • Independent work in the group project (120 hours)
  • Module exam and preparation (30 hours)

Requirements to earn credit
  • Assignment: Presentation (for example: scientific poster, Wiki entry, or similar)
  • Module exam: written project report (20000 - 25000 characters) or portfolio (15-20 pages)
