Data Analysis in the Humanities and Social Sciences

Module name Data Analysis in the Humanities and Social Sciences
Credit Points  6 LP
Requirement required module
Module Level In-Depth module
Content and learning outcomes

The  module delves further into research data in the humanities and social sciences with the help of examples of use. The focus is on the computer-assisted methods of data analysis and modeling, which are introduced in a seminar and practiced and reinforced through practice assignments. The students further deepen their knowledge of a specific method via the completion of a final programming project.

After completing this module, the students can use the methods of computer-assisted data analysis in the different areas of the humanities and social sciences. They are able to develop and use a software-supported data analysis in a given topic area. They will have learned how to think critically about the consequences of the methods and technologies on science and society.
