27.05.2026 14th Cartographic History Colloquium (29–30 May 2026; TU Darmstadt)

Prof. Albrecht Fuess will participate in the 14th Cartographic History Colloquium, which will take place on 29–30 May 2026 at the Technical University of Darmstadt. The colloquium will provide a scholarly forum for researchers in the early and advanced stages of their academic careers to present and discuss ongoing projects on the cultural history of cartography, ranging from the medieval period through to modern and contemporary history.

The event will bring together contributions that focus on methodological approaches and theoretical questions in the study of historical mapping practices. It will be organized and led by Ingrid Baumgärtner (Darmstadt), Gerrit Jasper Schenk (Darmstadt), Christoph Mauntel (Osnabrück), Martina Stercken (Zurich), and Iris Schröder (Erfurt), and will foster interdisciplinary exchange among scholars working in related fields.
