18.05.2026 Academic Study Days “Academic Diplomacy: Marburg – Fez”

From 21–24 May 2026, the Centrum für Nah- und Mittelost-Studien (CNMS) and the Université Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdallah, in cooperation with the Institute for German-Moroccan Studies (IDMS), will organize an academic study event titled:

“Academic Diplomacy: Marburg – Fez: Historical and Academic Bridges for a Sustainable Partnership.”

The program includes academic lectures, institutional meetings, and the signing of a partnership and cotutelle agreement between the participating institutions. Scholars and doctoral researchers from both universities will present their research and discuss future cooperation in the fields of humanities and Middle Eastern studies.

The event will also include cultural visits in Fez, including the historic al-Qarawiyyin library and university complex.
